Hi! I will be in WDW January 06 thru January 14 2011. I like to know if it is possible to book VAN (Nurse) That will come to my hotel, to change my dressing every day or 2 days? Thank you.

Hi, Michel!  Arranging a visiting nurse has to be done through your doctor's office or through the visiting nurse agency that you currently work with.  I have just gotten off of nearly two months on Vacuum Assisted Closure wound care treatment, and required three visits by a nurse each week.  The local agency that I work with had to locate a service in the Orlando area that would come and do my dressing changes, and it required them to fax all of my records to them and obtain orders from my doctor.

I would get the ball rolling on the arrangements now.  My agency had to call three different agencies before they found one that would work with my insurance and accept me as a temporary patient.  They also had me bring all of my supplies with me, as the supplies I required could only be ordered in case lots, and my insurance company wouldn't allow me to order another case when I had a case at home that was nearly full.

There are several visiting nurse agencies in the Walt Disney World area.  Your local agency may be affiliated with one and be able to do an easy transfer, but the sooner you get started, the better it will be if you have to work with several different agencies before finding the right one.

    Good luck!
