We will be going to WDW Jan 11-18th, we have a two day ticket starting on the 12th. We aren't sure which day we will do which park- with no more park reservations how do VQ's work?

Hiya, Tom, and thank you for stopping by planDisney. Exciting changes are coming to Walt Disney World Resort in a few days, and theme park reservation requirements are one of the main ones. Let's look at how virtual queues will work for your upcoming visit.

Guests with date-based tickets should be able to try to join the virtual queue at 7:00 AM for either TRON Lightcycle / Run at Magic Kingdom Park or Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT. According to the website, you can only hold a virtual queue for one attraction at a time. As long as your theme park ticket is valid for these parks, you should be able to join either of those virtual queues on your mobile app without a theme park reservation. So the choice is yours!

I chatted with a friendly Cast Member who said that until the language on the website is updated for the changes coming on January 9, we don't have all the specific details on how virtual queues and Genie+ will work for guests not required to make theme park reservations. I suggest you watch the Virtual Queues page for up-to-date information and procedures.

Walt Disney said that progress is impossible without change, but sometimes, we must work through some growing pains. I'm sprinkling pixie dust so your upcoming visit is magical, Tom. Please stop by planDisney anytime!

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
