Going to WDW 1/1 - 1/7. When do the holiday crowds start to die down? We fly in the a.m. of 1/1 and want to hit the parks asap. Are the crowds on 1/1 as bad as on Christmas when you might not get into the parks if you aren't there before noonish?

    Hi Wendy,

The crowds on New Year's Day will be heavy, but probably not at heavy as Christmas Day or New Years Day as some folks will be taking it easy after a late night celebrating New Year's Eve. While it is possible that crowd control admission procedures will come into play, this is somewhat unlikely.

According to the Crowd Calendar at the independent website touringplans.com. The expected crowd levels (on a scale of 1-10) for your visit are:

    1/1 - 10
    1/2 - 9
    1/3 - 6
    1/4 - 7
    1/5 - 6
    1/6 - 4
    1/7 - 5

Basically, once you get past the second day of your trip, things will seem much calmer.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know what else we can do to help.
