Hi Leanne,
Are you getting so excited that your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is just a few short weeks away?! I hope you're counting down the days to all of the magic and fun!
I'm really happy to hear that you're planning a "down" day during your visit. I've found through the years that overly tired Mouseketeers (of any age!) aren't very magical. After a couple fun theme park days, my family likes to take a day to sleep in, enjoy the activities around our Disney Resort hotel, and rest up for more theme park fun. As the mama of teenage daughters myself, my 15-year-old and I just brainstormed some things that you and your daughter could enjoy during your day off.
First, what about planning a special meal for the two of you? My daughter is a big fan of the All-You-Care-To-Enjoy Signature Breakfast Skillets at
Whispering Canyon Cafe. Plus, breakfast is served until 11:00 AM, so you can still sleep in before heading to the gorgeous
Disney's Wilderness Lodge - win win! Or what about a special dinner at
Tratorria al Forno? While some of the entertainment may not be available at
Disney's BoardWalk, it's still a beautiful location, and a walk around Crescent Lake is a lovely way to spend an evening. You could even enjoy a ride on the
Disney Skyliner while you're there. Or have you considered a
horseback ride or one of the other
Enchanting Extras available to Guests? You could experience the magic of the Walt Disney World Resort in a whole new way! Finally, don't discount your
Disney Resort hotel, which will offer its own options for recreation. Be sure to ask a Cast Member about any activities taking place during your visit!
However you decide to spend your day with your daughter, Leanne, I hope that the two of you create memories together that you'll both cherish forever. Thanks so much for visiting us at planDisney, and please let us know if we can help with anything else as you're planning your magical vacation!
