Hi. We are going to WDW the first week of August '09. Myself, husband, mother in-law and 4 kids ages 14,8,2 &1. It is also our anniversary...any ideas for something special that wont break the bank?

How wonderful that you are getting to spend your anniversary at Walt Disney World!  I can definitely give you some ideas that won't break the bank!

First, and most obvious, there are so many restaurants to choose for a romantic meal!  In addition to the ones most people recommend (California Grill for one), there are others that we have enjoyed on many anniversaries.  Our current favorite is Jiko at Animal Kingdom Lodge, and after a wonderful meal there, you can take a walk out to the savannah to see the animals, or sit side by side to listen to the African Story tellers.  We also really like Artist Point at the Wilderness Lodge, followed by a stroll around this beautifully landscaped resort.

You can head to Port Orleans Riverside and take a romantic carriage ride.  Book this in advance by calling 407-939-7529.  It costs $45, but it's a nice, romantic ride around the resort.

You might choose a meal at the San Angel Inn at EPCOT, where it is always a beautiful twilight hour.  After a lovely dinner, you can venture out to cuddle next to each other as you enjoy the night time Illuminations show.  Or you can grab a coffee and dessert at the Kona Island Cafe Coffee Bar at the Polynesian, then snuggle up on the beach at the resort and watch Wishes from the Magic Kingdom!

If you have theme park passes, don't underestimate an evening of theme park fun for just the two of you!  I love cuddling up with my sweetie on things like Pirates of the Caribbean and the Haunted Mansion, and playing against him on Buzz Lightyear!  Then we'll stand with his arms around me as we watch Wishes.  Sigh - so romantic!

    Have a very happy anniversary!
