We're going to WDW for the first time this August. I have the deluxe dining plan. We are a family of 5,2 adults and kids 3,8,12. I was trying to plan reservations for all breakfasts and dinners and figure out lunch as we go. Is this reasonable?

Hi, Karen!  I think this is a great idea.  Having a plan for breakfast allows you to enjoy one of the many Disney dining experiences before you get your day started!  If you use your dining reservations to enjoy one of the resort hotels, it even allows for a last minute change of plans, so you can switch to a theme park you may not have been planning to visit that day.

I also like having dinner reservations.  It really builds in a break from the busy theme park day for my family.  We like to get up and out early in the morning, and knowing that we'll be sitting down and enjoying a family dinner helps me plan my day to see most of the things on our must see list, then relax with a wonderful dinner.

With a big breakfast and a big dinner, you may find that you don't need a big lunch.  We've shared turkey legs from a cart, or split an order of a burger and fries.  I also find that with a breakfast reservation, lunch is  alot later in the day - if at all.  We're just as likely to grab something like a DoleWhip or popcorn, and hold off until dinner.

Have a great vacation, and enjoy some wonderful family meals!
