Going to WDW in early Oct. When HS has xtra magic hours in the evening, is it typically more crowded at opening as well, or just later? Do the evening parades/fireworks make MK a lot more crowed as well? Trying to plan out the touring days.

Hi Becky,

Your trip is happening at one of my favorite times of the year at the Walt Disney World Resort. I love October with the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival and Magic Kingdom's Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP).

Disney's Hollywood Studios (DHS) is the one park I like to avoid on days it holds its Extra Magic Hours (EMH). The mornings are crowded with guests trying to ride Toy Story Mania and the evenings are just as packed for Rock 'n Roller Coaster with Aerosmith and Tower of Terror.

As for Magic Kingdom, it does not fill the same way for its Extra Magic Hours. In addition, it might have two parades during Extra Magic Hours. We generally ride the attractions during the first and watch the second.
