We are going to WDW in early Feb. My father in law has a severe gluten intolerance. (celiac) My concern was how that might work with the delux Dining plan. I know the staff will be helpful but if its a buffet will he have options? Special requests covered?

Hi Crystal!  I think you'll find that Walt Disney World is one of the easiest places to travel with special dietary needs! Disney has a department dedicated to assisting guests with food allergies and intolerances. Click here for more information on dining at Disney with a special diet.

If you or your father-in-law email SpecialDiets@DisneyWorld.com or call 407-824-5967 in advance of your trip, the Special Diets department will send you a form to complete about his dietary requirements and the restaurants in which your family plans to dine. They will then make sure that each restaurant has the information about his dietary needs so that the restaurant can prepare a suitable meal for him. The Special Diets department can send you a list of gluten-free items served at the table-service, buffet, and counter-service restaurants, and they can let you know in advance as to whether a particular restaurant or buffet can accommodate his needs so you can plan accordingly. When you arrive at each restaurant, your father-in-law can ask to speak with a chef who will point out the items on the menu or buffet that meet his dietary requirements.

Have a magical vacation! Come visit us again at the Moms Panel if you have more questions!
