Will be in WDW during first week of Dec. Ive heard about Mickeys X-mas party as well as candlelight procession. Could someone please elaborate on what to expect w/ these two events and are there other special events to consider with 2 girls 8 & 12 TH

These are two of my favorite Walt Disney World events!  Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is a separately ticketed event.  You can enter the Magic Kingdom as early as 4 o'clock with your party ticket, and you will be treated to a special holiday parade and fireworks, holiday shows, holiday decorations, and complimentary cocoa, apple juice and holiday cookies.  The best part is that the number of tickets sold are limited, so it is generally a bit easier to get through ride lines.  We have been where the longest we've waited for anything was about 10 minutes.

The Candlelight Processional is included with your EPCOT admission, although you can purchase a dinner package which gives you priority entrance to the show.  This is a celebrity narrated telling of the story of the Nativity, enhanced by a chorus performing Christmas hymns and songs.  Celebrities schedule to perform this year include Whoopi Goldberg, Abigail Breslin, and Edward James Olmos, among others.  This is a beautiful, moving, spiritual experience that helps put me in the Christmas spirit every year.

Another of our favorite things is the Christmas Around the World at EPCOT.  You can visit the various countries in the World Showcase and meet that country's version of Santa Claus.  I am determined to get a photo of my girls with all of the Santas to use on our Christmas cards one year!  The characters each tell a story of who they are and how the holiday is celebrated, and it's fascinating and fun.

Enjoy the start of your holiday season with a wonderful vacation!
