Going to WDW in Dec, w/ 7 yr old. I heard some of the hotels/resorts have beautiful Christmas decorations -- what are your suggesting to "must see", Planning 1 day each in MK, Epcot, Hollywood Studio & Animal King - best things to do in each?

Hi, Regina!  A must see holiday resort for us is the Grand Floridan.  Each year, a beautifull decorated, life sized gingerbread house appears in the lobby, and the most glorious smells fill the resort!  You may feel like you've stepped into a Dickens novel when you walk up to the resort and find someone offering you roasted chestnuts, and in addition to the gingerbread house (where you can buy all sorts of gingerbread treats!), you'll see the most magnificent tree!  There are also usually character appearances in the lobby during the holidays.

You also want to hit the Boardwalk area resorts.  In the past few years, we've seen a large chocolate carousel and some amazing holiday decorations and character meet and greets.

EPCOT is my favorite theme park during the holidays.  Especially with a little one, check out the holiday storytellers located at each country in the World Showcase.  You can have your little one's photo taken with Father Christmas, the Monkey King, the Three Kings, and other holiday figures from around the globe.  They each come with a story of Christmas in their home country, and it's really interesting.

Disney's Hollywood Studios is home to the Spectacle of the Dancing Lights, the most elaborate holiday light display I have ever seen!  My kids could spend hours just staring up at the displays and trying to catch "snowflakes" on their noses.  It's a holiday must see for us.

Magic Kingdom may have Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party going on during your visit.  This separate ticket event gives you access to holiday shows, decorations,, and a wonderful parade.  Animal Kingdom has the Jammin' Jungle Parade, which is a lot of holiday fun!

    Have a wonderful visit!
