Hello! We are going to WDW Dec 3-12. I read that Pop Warner competition will be at the same time. Is this true? And how will that effect the crowds at the parks? Thanks so much!

    Letitia,

The 2008 Pop Warner National Championships were there from December 7-13. While I couldn't find an official announcement, it seems likely they will return, as they have been coming here for years.

If you saw the facilities at the Wide World of Sports, you would totally understand why. It is a fantastic site!

So expect that sometime during your stay this influx of athletes will arrive. What will it mean to crowd size?

Well it does bring in a lot of people. And they do not all spend their whole day at the football fields. Many of them are at the parks. But they crowd increase does not make it so busy that you will be bothered. It is still far less than you would find during the summer.

Take note that the crowds for this event stay mostly at the All-Star resorts, not only for their affordability, but also because they are close to the sports fields. If you are staying at a Value Resort, try to stay at Pop Century. For Deluxe/Moderate resorts, just avoid the Animal Kingdom Lodge and Coronado Springs.

    Have a magical vacation!
