we are going to WDW for 3 days but having a tough time deciding what deluxe hotel would be best to stay at with a 16 month old (fun/convenient)? we want to do a relaxing trip with just 1 or 2 days at park and will use our own car/or monorail for transport

    Hi there, Brian!

It goes without saying - but I'll say it anyway - that there is no more amazing accommodation on Disney property than one of their Deluxe Resorts. I'm thrilled that you and your traveling party will be experiencing this firsthand.

If convenience is part of your equation, then I would certainly recommend one of the Deluxe Resorts on the monorail line. That immediately gives you three choice options: the Polynesian, the Contemporary, or the Grand Floridian. I'll toss one other in the mix for you: Wilderness Lodge. While it isn't on the monorail line, it has its own water launch to take you to the Parks.

For tranquil atmosphere, I'd have to narrow the choice down to two: the Polynesian and the Wilderness Lodge. The Polynesian offers low-slung outbuildings, situated on gorgeous, highly-landscaped property, while the Lodge is essentially an enormous ski, well, lodge, complete with roaring fireplace (and working geyser!).

Both of these Resorts offer themed pools, kids' activities, and excellent dining. The Polynesian, however, has one distinct advantage: the 'Ohana restaurant character breakfast, starring Mickey Mouse, Lilo, Stitch, and more.  While the Lodge's Whispering Canyon Cafe is fun (and delicious), there is no character interaction at that family-friendly spot.

So the question is: do you prefer the sunny lure of the South Pacific, or do you relish the thought of sipping hot chocolate apres-ski?

I'd love to know what you decide. Please drop me a line after you make your reservations!

    See you later, celebrator,
