I am going to WDW in 44 days! It is a complete surprise for my children, 7 & 5. We will be staying in a hotel about 2.5 hours from the resort the night before and want to tell them the morning we plan to arrive. Any clever ideas? SO EXCITED!

Hi, Sara!  We are big readers in our family, so one of my surprises involves writing a short story for the kids to read, and of course the story ends with them going to Walt Disney World!  You can do this on your computer, and add photos of your kids to make it more personal to them.

Another thing you can do is put together small backpacks that they might each use packed with stuff for the park - sunglasses, hats, Disney themed fruit snacks - and see if they can figure out what they need the bags for, surprising them with the trip.  You might even give them each a Disney t-shirt to put on, with a Disney hat, Disney sunglasses, and a Disney backpack.  Have them get dressed with their eyes closed, then put them in front of the mirror to see if they can figure out the surprise!

You can do a short scavenger hunt in your hotel room.  Wait until they go to sleep, then put clues around the room.  One clue leads them to the next clue, and the final clue might reveal the big surprise.

Another favorite of one of my girls was an invitation from her favorite character.  I printed it up the night before, and when she woke up, on the foot of her bed was a Mickey stuffed animal and an invitation from the big cheese himself to come to Walt Disney World.  You can use clip art on the computer to create something fun.

I hope they are so surprised and you all have a magical time!
