We will be going to WDW in August 09. Will be traveling with a large group of family. 15 people, 8 adults the rest various aged children. We would like to all stay together as a group. Any suggestions or help you could offer to us? Don't know were to start

    Hi Dave,

I love Disney in August especially after the middle of the month when the prices drop as well as the crowds!

I would first hold a planning meeting with the adults of your group. I would have an honest discussion on budget and if there are any monetary constraints. If not, then you can pick a resort for all of you to stay at together if that works for your family.

You do not say what ages the children are so you will need to think if anyone will need to return to the resort daily for a nap or break.

Once you pick a resort, I would have one person make the booking in order to keep all of the rooms together. Ask for connecting rooms so that families can go between rooms. The standard hotel room holds four guests with some holding five (Port Orleans Riverside and Polynesian). There are suites available but they hold maximum 8 so you will need two 8 person suites at the minimum.

Some of the suites, generally at Disney Vacation Club properties which you can rent, have full working kitchens and two bathrooms. This might be an option. Check out these resorts-Beach Club, Boardwalk, Wilderness Lodge, Old Key West.

After you discuss location, talk about expectations of the trip and how much time you want to have with one another. Are all meals eaten together? Nightly dinners? Then I would make my Advance Dining Reservations (ADRs) as soon as possible. As a note on ADRs, there are no tables for 15. You will have to split into groups but in general the tables will be next to one another so you can still enjoy the magic!

    Keep sending us questions!
