We will be at WDW August 29, 2010 through September 11, 2010. I like your idea about the extra magic hours. We only take advantage of early hours as we have a 4 year old. Do you think it's worth it at that particular time of year?

    Shawne,

At that time of year the crowds are pretty light, so using Extra Magic Hours is a good idea. You get more time in the parks, if you want to, and the increase in crowd size is not so significant that it would negatively impact your experience.

With a four year old I would decide for the week if I wanted to regularly stay up later that at home to enjoy the evening extra magic hours, or if I wanted to get up for the morning ones. If you opt for the morning option, you have to be pretty dedicated to getting him/her in bed at a regular time so that waking up for the early entry can happen. Either way, I think you have to pick one strategy or the other.

I just never want to wake my kids up on a vacation. I figure that if they are asleep, it is because they are tired and need the sleep. If I wake them up prematurely, it sets the stage for unhappiness later in the day!

I hope that this helps! Send more questions!

    Have a magical vacation!
