We are going to WDW Aug. 16-22. We have a res. at Chef Mickey's the 1st night. MK has EMH that night. Would it be better to go to Epcot on our 1st day or should we fight the crowds at MK? We have DD 10 & 3 and DS 7. We arrive at MCO at 11 am.

    Lisa,

Boy, that is a tough call. The logical mind says you should just go to Epcot to avoid the crowds. But sometimes following your heart can be the best way to go. If this is your first trip to Walt Disney World I would suggest that you throw caution to the wind and make the Magic Kingdom your first day visit.

It is such an iconic experience, and you can start it off with some afternoon park time, then walking over for dinner at the Contemporary, then back for parades, fireworks, and a late night of fun to really set the mood for the whole week.

If, however, you have been here before, I think you should go with your idea of heading to Epcot. It is the best park to visit (other than the Magic Kingdom) for getting from the park to Chef Mickey's and back.

I hope that helps. Feel free to send me more questions!

Have a magical (and delicious) vacation!
