Hiya, Kristen, and welcome to planDisney! I'm glad you're a member of the
Annual Passholder family; so am I! Aren't the perks fabulous? I always feel like a VIP when I whisk out my passholder card for meal and merchandise discounts. We're in a club, you and me! Let's look at
theme park reservations for passholders, and how cancellations work.
I chatted with a helpful Cast Member who said that while there are no penalties for theme park reservation no-shows, you should cancel a reservation as soon as you know you won't be coming to a park. That will open up a spot for another guest to make a reservation, and it helps with tracking capacity and attendance.
You can cancel a theme park reservation anytime, even on the day you have reserved. Go into your
My Disney Experience mobile app and tap the plus sign at the bottom of the screen. Choose Make or Modify Park Reservations to cancel. If you don't cancel, the reservation won't drop off until the end of the day, but I suggest canceling as soon as you know your plans have changed.
Disneyland Resort has a penalty system for its theme park reservation no-shows, so I assume it became a problem for the California parks. If we all stay on top of those cancellations, then the hope is that
Walt Disney World Resort won't need to establish those rules. We can do it!
Have you seen the
latest theme park reservation policies for annual passholders? We'll still need to make reservations for most days, but tomorrow is the first good-to-go day. I'm going to
Magic Kingdom Park to check it out!
I hope I've given you some answers about theme park reservations, Kristen. Please stop by
planDisney anytime!
Magic awaits,
Elaine
