Hey there, hi there, Dean! Welcome to
planDisney, and thank you for your question.
Dean, thank you so much for your service to our country and the sacrifices your family made to support you during your time in the military. As a Navy wife, I so appreciate your dedication.
I cannot go to the
Flag Retreat Ceremony at
Magic Kingdom Park without a pocket full of tissues. This heartwarming tribute to both our nation and the men and women who served is a real tear-jerker for me, as my heart - and eyes - swell with patriotic pride.
How you are chosen to participate is a bit of a mystery. But let's see if we can help boost your chances. First, you'll want to arrive early. You may have a chance to interact with the cast members who are at the entrance, and this is a good time to let them know you are interested and a veteran. I have heard a good way to get recognized to get that interaction going is to deck yourself out in all your military swag - the baseball cap, the t-shirt, anything you can wear that lets them know you are a military veteran.
You may also be able to stop by
City Hall Guest Services once you are in the park. I know some guests have gone and nominated family members by stopping by here, and if you haven't been able to catch the eye of a Cast Member going into the park, you might use this strategy as a backup plan.
Thank you again, Dean, for your service. I do hope you are selected for this incredibly moving opportunity.
Anna
