Would the Wave restaurant at the Contemporary allow my wife to substitute the appetizer for two for an entrée? She doesn't eat red meat and the other entrees won't interest her. The 2-person appetizer costs less than most of their entrees. Thanks!

    Hi Dan,

The answer to your question depends on how you're paying for your meal.

If you're paying out of pocket (with cash, credit card, debit card, etc.) you're welcome to order whatever you want, in any combination you want. I often get two appetizers instead of an entree at restaurants and this would certainly be possible at the Wave if you're paying with money. My daughter did this at the Wave during a trip a few months ago with no problem at all.

The answer changes if you're using the Disney Dining Plan as your payment method. The Dining Plan allows you an entree and dessert. While you might find a sympathetic cast member to help you out, generally substitutions are discouraged. If you're on the Dining Plan, you could certainly ask for an appetizer or two instead of an entree, but you should be prepared for this request to be denied.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions. We're happy to help.
