Allison,
I am just a week away from that
EXACT SAME TRIP! On our arrival day in April we are going to check in at
Disney's Contemporary Resort, enjoy some afternoon pool time, then sail off to Fort Wilderness for the rootin' tootin' fun dinner show at the
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue!
Yes, the boats that connect directly between the Contemporary Resort and Fort Wilderness are operating again! So, you can catch that direct cruise to your dining destination.
BONUS TIP #1I always like to offer up a back-up plan, in case Disney has had to cancel that direct route for some reason or another. Another way to get to dinner, and back, is to walk over from the Contemporary to the boat docks in front of the Magic Kingdom. From there you are a short cruise away from both Fort Wilderness and Disney's Wilderness Lodge.
BONUS TIP #2If you have time on your visit, consider visiting the
Settlement Trading Post at Fort Wilderness, near the marina. This resort store has some fun souvenirs, including resort-specific shirts.
BONUS TIP #3Another great stop is to visit the newly updated
Tri-Circle-D Ranch at Fort Wilderness. It is a beautiful set of stables, and if the timing is right you could catch a pony ride!
Please feel free to
write me back directly if you have any follow-up questions.
Have a Magical Vacation!
Doug
