Hi Brittany!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am so glad you asked this question because I love to talk
runDisney!
Disney’s Princess Half Marathon was my first ever half marathon and started my family’s love of running. This April I’ll be running in my 10th
runDisney event,
Star Wars Rival Run Weekend!
But Disney’s Princess Half Marathon Weekend will always be my favorite. While this year’s course map hasn’t been published, I feel it is highly likely that it will be the same as it has been for the past many years. A search with your favorite browser for the 2019 course map should be a good frame of reference.
You’ll be happy to know that there are multiple water stations throughout the course. Hydration stations are usually along both sides of the road, and in my experience, the first tables offer an electrolyte drink, and the back tables offer water. You can usually count on the volunteers yelling this information out as you run through to assist you.
There are also many port-o-lets throughout the course. I recommend using one of the many available in the pre-race area, and if necessary there are additional stations near the start so you can make one last pit-stop before you enter your corral. In addition to the port-o-lets along the route, there are a few real bathrooms along the course. I made a “potty plan” before my first race and it worked great. You’ll find three good places to stop in the
Magic Kingdom between miles 5 and 6. The first is in Tomorrowland behind the stage near Space Mountain, the second is by Pinocchio Village Haus, and the third, and the one I recommend is in Frontierland, in the Adventureland Breezeway. If you are happier with actual plumbing, this is your best bet. Plus you can wash your hands and splash some cold water on your face!
I hope this info is helpful, Brittany! Wishing you happy training and a magical race!
