At the water parks is there shade for those who do not like the sun. Also at the theme parks are the queues covered. I am sending the family in August 2011 and am wondering whether at 72 I am too old for all the heat. What is it going to be like?

    Hi Ann,

I will admit it is hot in August. It will also be humid which makes the heat even tougher. However, I think Disney does a great job trying to keep guests cool.

All of the indoor attractions, resorts and restaurants are air conditioned. This is a great way to take a break from the heat. Many of queues are covered and some do have air conditioning.  To grab the shady areas at the water parks, head there early and you can easily find some shade to stay out of the sun.

To manage the heat, drink plenty of water and a hat is wonderful to stay cool. We bring misting fans with us and always have dinner at a table service restaurant. I know guests who like to eat lunch at a table service restaurant to take a break from the heat.

Finally, take it slow. this will help you be cooler on your trip!

    Have a magical vacation!
