    Are both water parks open during the 2018 Thanksgiving week? Historically, are both water parks open during Thanksgiving week?

    Hi Nicole!  Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.   We are so happy you stopped by with a question about Disney's amazing Water Parks.  The Water Parks are always a must do for my family whenever we vacation, even during the Winter months.  (It helps that the water is always heated.)

    I am so happy to tell you that both Disney's Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach are open year round.  However, there is a time each year that they will close for refurbishment.   Wanna know the awesome news?   Both will never be closed for refurbishment at the same time.   This year Typhoon Lagoon will undergo it's refurbishment from January 7, 2018- March 18, 2018, while Blizzard Beach is currently under refurbishment and has been since October 22, 2017.   Refurbishment at Blizzard Beach will be completed On January 6, 2018.     

    Historically the Water Parks have undergone refurbishment around the same time each year.  The good news is that one of them will be available for you to enjoy during Thanksgiving week.    Please keep an eye on the Park Hours page of the Walt Disney World website.  This page will give you the most accurate up to date information as your trip draws closer.
