Hi Mia, and welcome to planDisney. April is the perfect time to splash into all of the fun at Disney World’s water parks! And if you’re staying at a
Disney Resort hotel, 2025 is just the year to do it since
water park admission is complimentary on your check-in day. It doesn't get more magical than that!
One of the water parks should be open when you’re there on April 6th, but the hours for the Disney World theme parks and water parks aren’t always available in the
Hours & Events Calendar more than 60 days in advance. I’d recommend checking again closer to your vacation to confirm the water park that will be open and the hours.
Typically Disney World’s two water parks alternate their refurbishments so that one is always open to welcome Mickey’s guests! In past years,
Typhoon Lagoon usually reopens in March after its winter closure, so there’s a good chance that’s the water park that will be open during your visit. Keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog for the official announcement (
last year’s information was released there in early March).
I love to spend most of my Typhoon Lagoon day in the
Castaway Creek lazy river, then head to a lounger chair to relax and enjoy some snacks. My favorites are the Pork Elote Nachos at
Leaning Palms and the Green Matcha Tea Soft-serve at
Snack Shack (one of the only spots at Disney World where you can get this flavor!). But if thrills are more your speed, don’t miss the
Crush ’n’ Gusher water coaster!
One of my friends gave me a great tip for visiting the water parks. If you didn’t pack a beach bag, buy one of the large reusable shopping bags at any of the Disney gift shops. This makes for an affordable water-resistant bag to stow all your beach gear!
I’m wishing you a fun day in the sun on your upcoming visit to Disney World! If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to come back to planDisney.
