Welcome to planDisney, Jay! I am so glad you found us to ask your question!
When I travel, I like to bring my metal water bottle or tumbler. I like that the metal inside will keep the ice frozen for a long time. When going through airport security, the bottle or tumbler needs to be empty, and then once I am through security, I find somewhere to fill up the bottle so I have water on my flight.
You can bring your own water bottles into the Disney theme parks. It can even be full of ice from your resort’s ice machine! With the new security screening, Disney is having everyone walk through with your bag still on your body, and anything metal you need to carry at an arm’s length in front of you. In my case, that means my umbrella (for shade AND rain), my water cup/bottle, AND my sunglasses case!
Once inside the parks, if I found myself running low on water, I would simply ask for a cup of ice and a cup of ice water when we were picking up our mobile-ordered snack or meal. If you haven’t seen the mobile ordering for food on the
MyDisneyExperience app, your mind will be blown! You can even order your food hours in advance by choosing an arrival window in the future! I even ordered my Fresh Fruit Waffle Sandwich from
Sleepy Hollow while I was in line for Space Mountain! Once we were finished and walked over to the food stand, I clicked the “I’m Here” button, and only had to wait a few minutes to get my tasty treat.
There are also a few water bottle filling stations inside the theme parks, and I feel like I discover a new one on each trip! So far, I can verify that there is one as you are leaving the
Avatar Flight of Passage attraction in Animal Kingdom, and as you are exiting Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I will be on the search for more on my next trip.
I hope this helps to plan for your visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!
Happy Traveling,
Tracy
