I've been watching some YouTube videos on the Dream and Nassau. I'm a little confused on directions (from exiting the Dream) to the boat shuttle to Paradise Island. Do you walk off the Dream onto the boat shuttle where the Dream is docked?

Welcome back, Lee. Isn't it fun to view Disney Cruise Line's YouTube videos to get a real taste of what magic is in store for you when you set sail with Captain Mickey and his crew?

It sounds like you've booked a Port Adventure to the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island in Nassau. We've enjoyed our trips to Atlantis and all that there is to explore at that beautiful resort. When we went, we were taken on small buses from the end of the cruise dock right to the main doors at the Atlantis Resort. There is a small bridge that we drove across to arrive at Paradise Island. The cruise dock is long, though, so expect a good 10 to 15 minute walk from the ship to the end of the dock where we boarded the buses for our adventure.

Now, if you were planning to go to Atlantis on your own, just remember that you'll not be able to access most of the resort, not being a resort guest, unless you've booked a Port Adventure. Some guests do just head to the resort on their own to do some gambling in the casino, and I believe there is a water taxi (as well as regular taxis) near the end of the dock at the cruise port that offers rides to Paradise Island if you're going on your own. There is a big sign at the end of the dock that says Official Water Taxi, so you'll know you're in the right area.

However, I do suggest to all guests that the best way to explore any port is to do so on one of Disney's well planned Port Adventures. Not only will you get great service and have no worries about planning on your own, but the ship will always know where you are, so you won't miss the boat if you end up running a bit late with the adventure group.

    Have fun planning, Lee!
