Tony from NC Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

I want to come to WDW the first week of March, 2021 or the second week of December, 2021. Please compare these times in relation to cost and weather. Thank you, Tony

It’s always a delight to see you at planDisney, Tony!

I am so excited to help you decide when to take a magical vacation! Spoiler alert: every day is a great day to visit Walt Disney World Resort, but the first week of March and the second week of December both sound absolutely dreamy! And I can tell you’ve done your research because those are some of my favorite times to visit The Most Magical Place on Earth!

Let’s discuss the two options and what they have to offer, keeping in mind cost and weather.

March: Currently, if you check the Special Offers, there are some great offers during March 2021. You can save up to 35% on Rooms at Select Disney Resort hotels, which is an incredible deal. You can plug your nights in with the Resort hotel of your choice to see what the savings would be. Usually the first week of March is typically temperate. It’s starting to warm up but it’s not as humid as the summer months are. You can plan pool time at your Resort hotel and the evenings are still nice and cool. EPCOT is in full bloom during March and this yEAR, Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival began March 4th so if you were to time it right, you could catch my very favorite festival of them all! The dates for the festival are subject to change but it historically begins during the first or second week of March.

December: Although there are no current Special Offers for December 2021, you can look for rates that can accommodate your budget on the website or by calling Walt Disney World Reservations at (407) 560-2428. Normally, the Special Offers are released two months prior. If you do end up booking a reservation, when a discounted offer comes out, you will be able to apply it to your reservation. December has typically nice weather and historically, you can find averages of mid 50s to the low 70s. My favorite way to dress during December is layering because you can always take a layer off depending on your comfort. During the second week of December, you can expect to celebrate the most wonderful time of the yEAR, as the holiday season is in full swing! Every park is decked out in holiday decor and you’ll get to try tasty seasonal treats! Since October 1st will be the 50th jubilee of Walt Disney World Resort, the celebrations could trickle into December, as well!

As you know right now, Walt Disney World Resort is currently welcoming back Guests during the phased reopening, and although experiences have been modified, I have truly appreciated how much effort has gone into the careful consideration of Guest and Cast Member safety during this time. As you’re thinking about the time that you would like to come, also keep in mind that some experiences might not be available. And while it’s impossible to say when fireworks and parades will return, I do know every month we are seeing more and more updates and of course, more magical offerings are returning.

Tony, whether you decide to go in March or in December, we are all EARS to help you plan your magical vacation!
