I am wanting to stay at the Cabins at Fort Wilderness. We are bringing our dog. Is there anything I have to do to bring the dog when I make reservations?

    Hi there, Carrie!

Isn't it awesome that there are dog-friendly options at Walt Disney World? As the mom of two Golden Retrievers, it's nice to know I can bring the whole family along with me when I visit a Disney Resorts Collection hotel

The biggest thing to know in order to bring your furbaby with you to the Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort is that you have to call 407-939-7539 in order to make your reservation. There are a limited number of accommodations in the pet-friendly category, and you'll have to let them know ahead of time that you plan to bring your dog with you. You don't want to book a cabin directly from the website, because you can't guarantee a dog-friendly cabin that way.

Read through the Walt Disney World Resort Pet Policies so you are familiar with the rules associated with bringing your dog. They're mostly common sense things, but just so nothing ends up being a surprise when you get there, it's better to know before you go.

Once you're set up with practically perfect pooch accommodations, the real planning can begin! There are so many recreation options at Fort Wilderness Resort, and it's a perfect place for a romantic carriage ride or an archery lesson. Don't forget, you will need theme park reservations if you plan to spend some of your vacation in a theme park. You'll want to do that as soon as you know your dates are set. And you can start making dining reservations 60 days before you arrive. Yay!

I hope your whole family has a vacation worthy of some serious tail wagging, Carrie!
