I am wanting to plan a trip for late November/early December of 2016. I plan on initially booking at Saratoga springs (home resort) but we really want to stay at wilderness lodge. Do I book Saratoga Springs then waitlist Wilderness lodge?

    Hi Adam!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I love an advance planner, so it sounds to me like you are off to a great start. You should absolutely book your preferred dates at your Home Resort as soon as you are able, up to 11 months before your check-in day. This way you know you are guaranteed to be able to take your vacation when you would like. If you would be interested in staying at another Disney Vacation Club Resort, you may try to book this 7 months prior to your check-in day.

For example, if you are planning to arrive on Sunday, November 26, 2016, you would be able to book your Home Resort beginning on December 26, 2015. If you wanted to try to book another resort, you could begin booking on April 26, 2016.

If at the 7 month mark you were not able to book at an alternate resort, in your case The Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, at that point you would be able to put yourself on the Wait List. You cannot be put on the Wait List until that 7 month mark. I recommend marking your calendar and setting an alarm on your phone to remind you when that 7 month mark is approaching. If you can go online or call right when the 7 month window opens, you have a good chance of getting your preferred room.

I hope that helps to explain the process, Adam. I love helping fellow Members get the most from their Disney Vacation Club Membership. Please let me know if you have any other questions about your Membership that I can help with!
