Thanks for coming to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question, Marcella! The Disney Princess 10K is the race that hooked me on running several yEARs ago because I fell in love with the experience of being in the Disney Parks in the wee hours of the morning. I'm sorry to hEAR that you were unable to register before the race sold out. As a Princess alumni myself, I can attest that registration day is an endurance race in and of itself, and many races sell out within hours.
Entry fees for runDisney events are non-refundable and non-transferable, which means that it's highly unlikely there will be cancellations or that more spots will open up. So hEAR me out on this... I encourage you to consider signing up for the Disney Princess Half Marathon, which is still open for registration. You have plenty of time to train for those 13.1 magical miles, and there's nothing better than that "goosebumpy feeling" you get from running down Main Street, U.S.A. and through Cinderella Castle! If you truly have your heart set on running the 10K through
Epcot, then sign up for the ultimate
Disney Fairy Tale Challenge, and you get to complete 19.3 miles in two consecutive days. These royal runners get some well-deserved bling: two Finisher Medals, one Challenge Medal, and three participant race shirts!
Another option would be to run through a charity group. RunDisney Charity runners can purchase a guaranteed race entry through participating charities. Just go to the
Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend page on the runDisney website, click on the 10K Event tab, and then scroll down. Under "Important Race Info," you'll find a box with all the participating charities you can fundraise for including, Give Kids the World, the American Cancer Society, and Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.
Good luck, Marcella! If there's anything else we can help you with, remember, we're all EARs!
