Hi, I wanted to sign up for the 5K. This will be my first race, but I see that it says sold out. Do they have a waiting list? What happens if someone doesn't show up?

    Hi Eileen!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. It's great to hEAR your interested in taking part in your first runDisney 5K!

Unfortunately, once a race sells out there is not a waiting list for it. You can look into the runDisney Charity Groups or one of the designated Travel Providers to see if they still have bibs available, but this is not a guarantee. To get more information for either one of these go to rundisney.com, click on Events then select the weekend you are interested in. From here click on the registration tab and scroll down to find Charity and Travel Provider contact information. Since these races usually have thousands of registrants, they do not make adjustments for the handful that cannot attend. With runDisney registrations being non-refundable and non-transferrable, you cannot purchase a bib from someone no longer attending either.

Since the 5K distance does tend to accommodate the fewest number of runners, I'd recommend being ready to sign up the day registration opens for sale. The Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend goes on sale February 14, 2017 at noon EST so that'd be a great one to look into! Additionally the Disney Fall Feast 5K that takes place during Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend is still open for registration as well. Please let me know if you have any other questions and I'm sending pixie dust your way that you are able to find a race that works for you.
