I just wanted to know if $1200 is enough for food at wdw for a family of 4? My husband and I and our 2 boys who are 7&4. My 4yr old is a light eater and my 7yr old is at a point where he eats 4 pancakes and 6 sausages for breakfast!

Hi, Karina!  This is going to depend on how long you plan on staying and how you plan to eat.  If you want to do primarily counter service restaurants, figure about $15 per meal for adults and $10 for children.  You can absolutely save money from that amount if you share meals or do only side dishes for your lighter eater (a side of sausage for breakfast is about $2.50 at a resort food court).

When it comes to table service meals, I figure $20 per child and $40 per adult.  You can sometimes go over that amount, especially if you order a kids meal for your seven year old, then add an appetizer or something else because he has a healthier appetite.  And, again, you can save money if you share meals (my husband an I often do this at dinner, but add an extra appetizer).

I hope that helps you plan!  And don't forget to consider the Disney Dining Plan if you are staying on Walt Disney World property.  That can be a great way to budget for meals during your vacation!
