Hi Grant,
I am not normally a fireworks person but on the 4th of July, I am ready for an epic fireworks show. Disney World has the best fireworks shows imaginable but on this holiday, they take it to the next level. At both Magic Kingdom and EPCOT, you can watch a
patriotic fireworks show that will surpass your local one in every way to celebrate Independence Day!
Last year there were also
patriotic snacks and specialty beverages throughout the theme parks. I love how much the Disney chefs go all out for a celebration and they do not hold back for the 4th of July. Last year, I loved how beautiful and delicious all of the snacks and drinks were and that they were not limited to just the day of the celebration. We were able to enjoy several fun-themed foods throughout the week.
When celebrating the USA, there is no better place than EPCOT's World Showcase. The
American Adventure will take you on a journey through our history and feature special performances by the Voices of Liberty. My favorite part of Independence Day at Disney is visiting the Disney characters in their historic finest for the day. In the American Pavilion at the World Showcase, you will get to see Mickey, Minnie, and friends wearing costumes straight out of 1776! This is the only day of the year they don this attire so it is extra special!
Last year, I started my day off at Magic Kingdom to watch to US Air Force fly over Main Street and then hopped over to EPCOT for the rest of the day. This flyover may not happen every year but if they are planning on doing it, I highly recommend attending because it is spectacular. Magic Kingdom is typically super busy on July 4th with people hoping to catch the special fireworks show so I prefer to catch the Magic Kingdom fireworks show on the 3rd of July and enjoy a little more low-key celebration at EPCOT on the actual holiday! Make sure to check when you arrive if they are planning on doing the Magic Kingdom fireworks show on both the 3rd and 4th before you make your decision because dates are always subject to change.
Happy Planning,
Jenna
