Is the walking path between Fort Wilderness Campground and Wilderness Lodge being closed because of construction of the new hotel? Also, is the jogging path different than the nature trail? Are both remaining open if so?

Hi, Kelli!  As an avid runner and runDisney fan, I'm always on the lookout for scenic jogging trails while staying at Walt Disney World Resort!  It's a great way to spend a quiet morning to jump-start your day at the parks.

I'm so glad you asked this question, as I'll be staying at Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort myself this summer. Wilderness Lodge and Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort has a 2.5-mile fitness trail which is joined by other small nature trails, and branches into even more (such as the "Swamp Trail" in Fort Wilderness") throughout the property. Former Moms Panelist, Kay, often stays at "The Fort."  She highly recommends this trail and often sees turkey and deer during her nature walks. Reflections - A Disney Lakeside Lodge is planned for a site adjacent to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, and is slated to open in 2022.  I spoke to two different Cast Members at Guest Services, and while I couldn't get a definitive answer as to when construction for this resort will commence, they both guessed that this trail would be open during your trip this summer.  I'll keep my fingers crossed that it will be and that you'll be pixie-dusted with a few Bambi sightings during your journey!

I hope you have a fabulous vacation, Kelli, and please come back and see us if we can be of any more help!

Hi, I'm Eean from Pennsylvania! I may have an unusual name, but my passion for Disney is not unique. It's incredible how many people you can find who love talking about "The Most Magical Place On Earth!" I'm that mom who always has her ears perked at PTO meetings, in the grocery store aisle, or at my monthly Bunco club for an opportunity to give someone a planning tip to help make their vacation even more magical.
