Hi, Craig! Thanks for writing to planDisney! Sometimes known as "The Happiest Place on Turf," Walt Disney World Resort is home to four golf courses, all open to resort guests and the public. My husband and two teenage sons played
Disney's Palm Golf Course in December during our holiday trip, so I'd be happy to offer you some advice to ensure your round is a hole-in-one!
All three of the 18 hole Championship Golf Courses offer a variety of challenges for every golfer's skill set. My family enjoyed the wide-open fairways on the Palm Course. They also liked the signs next to every tee box with historical facts and the Mickey-shaped bunker on hole No. 8. However, watch out for the par-4 18th hole. Some golfers refer to it as "Cruella!"
We were staying at
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, so after playing, they simply walked across the street from the course back to our hotel, which took less than 15 minutes. Since you'll be going to the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC), which is next door to the resort, I'd add an extra 5 minutes to your time. Consider renting your clubs at the pro shop to make your trek even easier. Premium golf equipment, including an assortment of TaylorMade golf clubs and Adidas golf shoes, can be rented at all of Disney's golf courses. And make sure to book your tee time in advance by calling (407) WDW-GOLF or (407) 939-4653. If you are playing as a single, you will be paired up with another group. You may also want to inquire if they are still running their
Sunrise 9-Hole and Sunset 9-Hole Golf Promotion.
May The "Fores" Be With You, Craig! If you need any more advice, stop by and see us again real soon!
