Hi Susan! Thank you for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
Generally, when teams compete at
ESPN Wide World of Sports, the participants are registered for the competition and stay together with their team at one of the listed hotels. Spectators are usually offered a package to do the same, but may choose their own lodging instead. I would talk to the team's coach or travel coordinator to find out what their expectation is for accommodations, especially if your daughter will be staying with you. Some teams register parents and other spectators with the team package; others prefer parents to register through Varsity Spirit on their own. Transportation to the competition venue is provided by Varsity Spirit for participants from the included Resort Hotels only. If you'll be staying elsewhere, you'll need to provide your own transportation to the competition. If you will not have a vehicle, this can be easily accomplished using a ride-share service such as Uber or Lyft, a
Minnie Van, or you can catch a bus from
Disney Springs.
Regardless of where you choose to stay, I do recommend purchasing the tickets that the D2 Summit is offering. These are discounted from Theme Park tickets available to the general public, and they include admission to the cheer competition, which separately is priced at $35 per person per day for this particular competition. The tickets can be purchased as an add-on to your daughter's registration. Varsity will have an information tent set up on site, most likely at Disney's All-Star Sports Resort, where teams and those with spectator packages will check-in and tickets can be picked up.
I hope that helps! Let us know if you have additional questions.
