Hello, Eleana! I’m so glad you stopped by planDisney with your question. It sounds like you’re planning an incredible trip (maybe even a
Very Merrytime Cruise)! That sounds like the perfect way to celebrate the holiday season.
On Disney Cruise Line, activities that require advance reservations, like cabanas, spa treatments, and select character meet-and-greets, are called “Onboard Activities.” If you’re anything like me, you’ll be counting down the days until your booking window opens!
Yes, you’ll need to wait until your booking window opens to reserve a cabana or excursions at Castaway Cay. A travel agent can absolutely assist with the process, but they don’t have early access or a way to book faster than you could yourself. However, they can be a great resource for planning and ensuring everything is set up correctly.
Your
booking window depends on your
Castaway Club status (Disney Cruise Line’s loyalty program):
• Concierge Guests: 130 days before sailing (via the Shoreside Concierge Team)
• Pearl: 123 days before sailing
• Platinum: 120 days before sailing
• Gold: 105 days before sailing
• Silver: 90 days before sailing
• First-Time Cruisers: 75 days before sailing
Cabanas are among the most sought-after experiences on
Castaway Cay and tend to book quickly, mostly going to Concierge and Pearl guests. For first-time cruisers or those at the Silver level, they can be tough to snag. If you have your heart set on one, make sure your cruise payment is up-to-date before your booking window opens, and log on at the stroke of midnight (Eastern Time) when your window becomes available. And, If your cruise includes stops at Castaway Cay and
Lighthouse Point, you’ll have a second chance to try for one!
If you aren’t able to book a cabana, don’t worry, since there are still so many ways to enjoy Castaway Cay! You can put your name on the waitlist at Guest Services once you board the ship, but in the meantime, be sure to check out all the other amazing island experiences. My son and his friends loved the
Banana Boat ride, and snorkeling is one of my personal favorites. And, of course, you can always just soak up the sun on the beach with a free lounge chair and umbrella (and maybe a refreshing tropical drink). Just be sure to get off the ship early to grab a great spot!
Eleana, I hope you have the most magical time setting sail on your Disney adventure. Wishing you smooth sailing, warm island breezes, and plenty of pixie dust for those reservations!
"Sea" ya real soon!
