DH is a vol firefighter in Aurora IN when he travels on business he trades fire dept badges (Nashville, TN; Philedelphia etc). Does DWD have its own Fire Dept and where is it? I know he'd want a badge.

    Erika,

I love this question, and from a fellow Hoosier, no less!

My brother Ed is a volunteer firefighter in South Carolina, and he clued me in to this fantastic tradition a few years ago. As you enter the Magic Kingdom you start off in a town square. On the left side of the square there is a store that sells Disney-themed pet accessories. It is right next to the City Hall. It sells Dog bowls, chew toys, etc. The store resides in what is depicted to be the city fire station. Inside that store there is a board with a wealth of fire department badges. Now I don't know if they have one to give back to him or not, but I do know they love to get them!

As for the "real" fire department at Walt Disney World, they have a very cool one that is easy to spot on Buena Vista Drive. They are actually known as the Reedy Creek Fire Service, and there are a few
interesting websites that can give you some info about them, including www.reedycreek.org.

    I hope that this helps!

    Have a magical vacation!
