We are visiting with 3 11 yr olds, staying at Yacht Club. I am wondering whether we should bother with buffet breakfast or should max magic hours and get to park early then grab something quick. Kids are bit embarrassed by the characters (too cool!)

Hi Jennifer! I have an 11-year-old too and although he sometimes acts embarrassed to pose for photos with the Disney characters, I think he secretly enjoys it. I always like to eat breakfast before I hit the parks, so I don't spend the crowd-free first morning hours in the park searching for and eating a Quick-Service breakfast. Plus I need lots of coffee before I can get going!

Luckily for you, the Yacht Club has some great breakfast options, with no characters to humiliate your tweens. The Captain's Grille restaurant located  just off the lobby serves breakfast starting at 7:30 a.m., which gives you plenty of time to eat and get to a park by 9 a.m. The best part is that the Captain's Grille has a wonderful breakfast buffet that is much less expensive than the character buffets at Disney! If you want a smaller meal, you can also order a la carte from the Captain's Grille menu. If you're in a hurry, the Ale & Compass lounge, located next to the Captain's Grill offers a counter-service breakfast in the mornings. With these options, you can have your breakfast and maximize your park time too!

Hope this helps! Come visit us again at the Moms Panel if you have more questions!
