I will be visiting with my 1 year old son in November. It is going to be his and his father's birthday trip. Is there any cool things to do with a small toddler? I am a first time mom and want to make sure I am able to make sure he has all the fun possible

  • Hi Bryanna,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I hope you're having a practically perfect day.

Celebrating a birthday at The Happiest Place on Earth is the best. A special way to begin their special day would be to book a Character Dining Experience. We love Goofy’s Kitchen, however, if you can get an early reservation at Plaza Inn for “Minnie & Friends – Breakfast in the Park,” you will get to enter Disneyland Park before the park opens and experience Main Street, U.S.A. with little to no crowd. This is a fun opportunity to get a priceless picture of the family with Sleeping Beauty Castle before you head in the restaurant. Disney Characters stop by your table for autographs and pictures during Character Dining. Be sure to tell your Server that you are celebrating a birthday too, you never know what magic may come your way.

Another fun gem for Guests celebrating a birthday is to get their free “It’s my Birthday” button. Simply stop by City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland Park or at Guest Services in Disney California Adventure Park to get your boys their buttons to wear during the vacation; Cast Members that see them in the parks will be sure to send birthday wishes all day.

My kids love visiting Disney Junior - Live on Stage! in Disney California Adventure Park. Disney Characters from Disney Junior are on stage and have fun-interactive elements to this show for littles to enjoy! Our littles also love to hang out in Mickey’s Toontown. This is the place for kids to get their wiggles out. Goofy’s Playhouse and Donald’s Boat are both areas for young explorers. Be sure to pick up any cartoon phones you see - there’s a fun voice on the other end!

I hope this helps. Please feel free to visit us again with any other questions you may have. Wishing your son and husband a very merry birthday!

    chEARs!
