I am visiting with my wife and 5 year old daughter Disneyworld in December of 2008. I changed my dates from Dec. 21 through Christmas to Dec. 7th to the 13th. Was that a wise move? I heard that the parks were less crowded in the beginning of December.

Yes, yes, yes. You are a wise and clever person. (And I just know you're having a good hair day too!)

There could easily be half as many people at WDW in early December as there will be during the weeks on either side of Christmas. But you will still be able to enjoy all the perks of the holidays. The decorations will all be up. You can see the lights at Disney's Hollywood Studios. You can go to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. You can see the Candlelight Processional at Epcot. Plus, you can avoid the crowds and spend less money. All around I think you've made an excellent choice!
