Hi Catherine, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
A meal at
Chef Mickey's is an iconic part of many Walt Disney World Resort vacations. I am chuckling at the time my then 4-year-old son was startled to see Goofy cutting up his banana for him! I also have a photo on my desk of my kids posing with The Big Cheese himself. The excitement in their eyes tells it all! Thanks for reminding me of some great family memories.
You don't mention whether or not you'll have a vehicle available during your visit. If so, you can drive to
Disney's Contemporary Resort. Complimentary
parking at Disney Resort Hotels is available while Guests are enjoying their dining experience. I would allow about 30 minutes if driving, to allow time to park and check-in at Chef Mickey's for your reservation.
If you will not have a vehicle, take Disney's complimentary
bus transportation to
Magic Kingdom Park. From the bus stop, Disney's Contemporary Resort is a short walk away. While the bus ride itself is short, perhaps 15 minutes or so, I would allow about an hour to arrive in time for your reservation just in case you need to wait for a bus. If you arrive early, you can spend time admiring the beautiful views or browsing the shops at Disney's Contemporary Resort. From the front of Magic Kingdom Park, you could also take the
Resort Monorail or a
boat to Disney's Contemporary Resort. I would add another 30 minutes when transferring just in case.
For door-to-door service and a fun way to arrive in style, try
Disney's Minnie Van Service. Minnie Vans can be requested through the Lyft app, and fees apply for this service.
Wishing you many wonderful memories of your own! Enjoy your breakfast with Chef Mickey!
