I am visiting WDW the first week in March. I was wondering how much difference preferred seating for Fantasmic makes? Thanks for this forum it is really helpful!

Hi, Angela!  The Fantasmic Dinner Package allows you to sit in a section of the Fantasmic theater that has been reserved for dinner package participants.  The seats are not any better or any worse than the seats anywhere else in the theater, they are just held until about 20 minutes prior to the start of the show for dinner package ticket holders.  That means, instead of standing in line for the show for up to an hour before the show starts, those people with the dinner package can just walk up about 30 minutes prior to the start of the show and know they will have a seat waiting for them.

Currently, Fantasmic is not operating every night, and based on my experiences in the past, the nights that it is running are going to be quite busy.  In my opinion, this is going to make the Fantasmic Dinner Package an even better option, as you are still guaranteed seating, no matter how busy the show is going to be.

Fantasmic is a wonderful and very popular show.  For my family, the dinner package just makes it a little easier to get into the crowded theater.
