I will be visiting WDW Feb 2010. 2 children ages 4 & 6 plus myself and my elderly mom. Both my mom and I can't walked distances (muscular dystropy and heart conditiondementia). WC not an option/no one push chairs. Suggestions?

    Patricia,

I understand your concern about having no one to push the wheelchairs.  Have you considered renting an ECV or scooter?  Disney rents them in the front of each park, along with traditional wheelchairs and strollers.  The cost (as of 11/09) is $45 per day, with a $100 deposit required.  Something to keep in mind is that these are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis, so there is no guarantee that there will be one available for you.

When we have traveled with family who needed an ECV we elected to rent them from an off-site company.  This way we were assured of their availability, and we were able to get a significantly better price as well.  We have rented from Walker Mobility and Discount Mobility USA in the past and were very satisfied with both.

If one or both of you are uncomfortable driving a scooter, then you could consider renting one traditional wheelchair and taking turns riding and pushing, with frequent stops to rest.

    Good luck!
