Howdy Dona,
That sounds like so much fun! My family spent Thanksgiving at Walt Disney World last year and we absolutely loved it! We visited Magic Kingdom in the morning, spent a quiet afternoon by the pool and then enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner at
Kona Cafe at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort (traditional Thanksgiving fare for my husband and kids and sushi for me). It was an awesome day together, and best of all, no one had to cook or clean up! I'm trying to convince my husband that this NEEDS to be a family tradition from now on. We were on the Disney Dining Plan last year and I'm happy to pass on that we were able to use our entitlements that day, just the same as the other days of our vacation.
Dining reservations for Thanksgiving can get gobbled up fast, so be sure to make yours just as soon as you're able. Many, but not all, restaurants on property will offer a traditional Thanksgiving menu, and a few of my personal favorites for the holiday are
Kona Cafe',
Liberty Tree Tavern and
50's Prime Time Cafe. If you visit those restaurants' sites, just scroll down for information on their Thanksgiving menus.
Wishing you a magical trip and a Happy Thanksgiving, Dona! Please visit us here on the Disney Parks Moms Panel again if you have any other questions.
