Will be visiting WDW Dec 11-15th 2009. Want to know about the crowds and if all attractions are usually open year round, also how the weather is. Can you swim at that time of year in Florida? Will be staying at Coronado Springs Resort.

    Penny,

Let's start with the weather. Averages range from a high of 73 degrees to a low of 52 in December, with an overall average of 63. It may sound a bit chilly for swimming, but I stayed at the Coronado Springs just this past December, and their pool was very busy. So yes, swimming is definitely an option, though not a guarantee. Also, it is a great pool! Love the pyramid and the adjacent playground.

December also has one one the lowest rainfall totals in Orlando, so you get a good forecast in that department as well.

Finally, early December typically has very light crowds.

So you are getting all green lights from me! You get pretty good weather (wouldn't mind it being 10-15 degrees warmer, but it can certainly be warm enough on select days to swim), little to no rain, and ideal crowd sizes. All that, combined with the amazing holiday decor, and you will no doubt have a magical vacation!
