I will be visiting WDW with my brother & his family. They are considering a dining plan, but have a ROOM ONLY reservation. Could they still add a dining plan? I have an AP so I don't need a ticket. I will be staying with them. Is that a problem?

    Hello Jennifer!

I am thrilled to hEAR your brother and his family are getting ready to go on a vacation to Walt Disney World Resort. I'm even more excited to hEAR that you're planning on joining them! I love family time at The Most Magical Place on Earth.

A Walt Disney World Resort room-only reservation can certainly be modified to a ticketless Disney Resort Hotel Package with a Disney Dining Plan included. Your brother can call Walt Disney World Resort reservations and a Cast Member will be happy to help him make the delectable changes to the reservation. I'd like to remind you that changes to resort reservations must be made a certain number of days before check-in to avoid additional fees.

As long as the number of Guests in the room does not exceed the room occupancy, you are more than welcome to stay! There may be an added charge for an additional Guest. Your brother will have to call and add you as a Guest on the reservation so you can receive a MagicBand. Keep in mind, if your brother is getting a Disney Dining Plan, every one on the reservation is included in this. If you're not wanting to stay the night and are not interested in getting the Disney Dining Plan, you can be added as a Day Guest. You would go to the front desk of the Resort hotel to do this. Day Guests do not get access to the pool or Extra Magic Hours like Walt Disney World Resort hotel Guests do. If you are wanting to enjoy the Resort amenities, I would go ahead and choose to be on the reservation.

I am so excited for your family vacation, Jennifer! Here's to making magic and memories!
