We will be visiting WDW April 3-9, 2011. We decided to fly instead of drive, and our plane doesn't leave until 8:45pm. Originally we had planned on leaving in the morning, so did not purchase park tickets for our last day. Any inexpensive ideas?

    Hi Lori!

Yeay! You have almost a whole additional day!

Here are a couple of ideas to spend your bonus time:
    • Downtown Disney: This is a great choice for both shopping and dining! The are quite a few unique experiences for both great food and great shopping. T-Rex is a fun, prehistoric themed restaurant where you can eat with dinosaurs during a meteor shower. Tren-D is a great shop to pick up a souvenir or two. It even features a new shop called the Tea and Spice Exchange. There really is something for everyone there!
    • Miniature Golf: Disney features to great mini-golf courses, Fantasia Gardens and Winter-Summerland. Either of these courses offer a fun way to spend a few hours.
    • Resort tours: Our family loves to take a ride on the monorail and visit each of the resorts along the way - the Grand Floridian, Polynesian and Contemporary. You could even schedule a great lunch at one resort and really enjoy your time there. Kona Cafe at the Polynesian is one of my favorites!
And, last, but not least, when you arrive you may want to inquire about upgrading your park tickets. If you've already purchased a multi-day ticket, the price to add another day is usually much less than you'd think. For example, the price difference between a 6 day & 7 day Magic Your Way Ticket is just about $5. You can't beat that price for a day at the parks!
