We're going to be visiting Walt Disney World in a month. DO all the character dining opportunities require a reservation? I looked online several month ago and they were already booked. Is there any hope of getting into one with no resrvation? Thanks.

    Hi Gina,

Character dining is one of the most popular experiences at Walt Disney World. Many of the character meal restaurants do become fully booked four, five, or even six months in advance, particularly during the holiday season. There are no seats specifically held for walk-ups, so once the restaurant is full, it's full.

That being said, it is sometimes possible to get into fully booked a character meal without a reservation. You'll have the best luck if you show up a half hour or so before the restaurant opens and are prepared to wait around to see if there are cancellations. Also, you'll have better luck at character meals like the Cape May Cafe breakfast at the Beach Club or Tusker House at the Animal Kingdom than you will at the princess meals.

You may want to head over to the independent website DisneyFoodBlog.com. Search there for an article called "A Holiday Without Dining Reservations" for other strategies about how to dine at Disney without reservations.

Good luck with you planning. Please let us know what else we can do to help.
