We are visiting Walt Disney World in December. What kind of clothing should we bring?Do we need heavy jackets or light sweaters? We are very excited,we are visiting the week of Christmas.Do they have a brochure of what's oing on in every park for the holiday

Hi Christina!  December is a wonderful month to visit Walt Disney World!  The holiday decorations are in place, and there is something so magical about seeing Cinderella Castle lit up with icicle light and snow falling on Main Street, U.S.A!  I was able to visit last year in December and it is truly an experience I will never forget.  December weather can be a bit unpredictable, as is the case with all the winter months in Florida.  In 2011, the weather was lovely, solely a light jacket needed for the evening, and long sleeves in the daytime.  In 2010, jackets, hats, gloves and scarves were needed as the temperature was topping out at solely 50 degrees!  My recommendation is to keep an eye on the weather forecast for the week in which you will be going.  You can gauge much better what type of attire you might need.  Usually a light jacket is your best option, should the weather remain seasonal.  Also, I found gloves were needed in the evening, as it does tend to get a bit nippy.  As for the week of Christmas, keep in mind that it does get very crowded at the parks, so make sure to arrive early, as last year they did close Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and Epcot due to maximum guest occupancy.  The Disney Parks Blog will release a synopsis of the activities and guest experiences that will be available for the holiday closer to the winter months, so keep an eye out for that.  When arriving at your park of choice, make sure to pick up a Times Guide which will delineate the available festivities at that particular park! Hope this helps you plan your magical vacation! -Malanie

Introducing my children, husband, and family to all the magic that Walt Disney World can offer has led to countless moments with Mickey and Friends, Disney Vacation Club membership and fun on the high seas with Disney Cruise Lines! Our vacations are usually centered around a visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth, and I am super excited to help you plan and create magical moments for you and your families!
